Mark Ho get's a Cover

Mark Ho, the creator of the amazing Artform #1
Just got the cover of Scientific American.
The article is not about him or his work, just a cover illustration -
still pretty cool. Grab a copy if you want to see a hi res photo of his
incredible work. Check out this link for his web site. And another page here with more details.

The more I study this cover photo the more I am amazed.

Look for the ball joint in the ankle or heel of the rear foot.

Now notice the difference between the two joints in their different positions. The straight or standing position (front) ankle seems to have a sleeve that slides down to cover the rod and ball. The crouched foot shows this exposed. Perhaps spring loaded? Either way damn cool.

Well, it's art isn't it. I mean it is the most lifelike articulated figure I've seen and would be heaven to animate but covering it up? A sin.

How did you first connect with Mark Ho?

Thanks again for your help with my designs!! So good!

Yes Artform #1 would be fantastic to animate and a crime to cover up.

I don't remember where I first saw Mark Ho's work, might have been boingboing or the SMA boards.

- most welcome, anytime!
